Secure by Design Workshop (December 2025)

CIP Cybersecurity Level 1

About this course

To help start-ups strengthen their defenses against cybersecurity threats including emerging Web3 risks — Cyberport is hosting the Secure by Design workshop. This workshop features the following sessions:

 # Morning Session 

Section I:  Cybersecurity Concept and Principal Review
 What to Learn:
  -         Security by Design Principle and recent incident reviews

 -         Introduction on key cybersecurity concept and frameworks (e.g., STRIDE, NIST CSF, CVSS 3.1);
  

Section II:  Intro to Basic Security Assessment Tools and Methodology

 -         Introduction on basic security assessment tools; (Burp, Kali, Shodan)

 -         Introduction on OWASP TOP10
 
 # Afternoon Session.
 Section III
 -        Hands-on practice on basic security assessment tools

-         Apply the aforementioned skills by using publicly available cyber wargame environment (overthewire)

 

Section IV

-        An online assessment of the training outcome

 Fee:
1. Regular price:
 - HK$ 1,260 per head.

2. Discount price to Smart-Space Tenants:
- HK$168 per head.

3. Refundable commitment fee to Cyberport community members (i.e. Cyberport incubatees, CCMF grantees, Cyberport Alumni:
- HK$300 per head
- 100% refund to eligible participants who comply to Cyberport Academy attendance policy

This workshop may be mandatory for Cyberport current incubatees to attain CIP Cybersecurity Level 1 Qualification. Only incubatees with at least one of the core members be certified with an active industry accredited information system security certification(s) OR have attended training(s) on relevant industry de-facto standards, such as OWASP Top 10 or equivalent can skip the workshop.
