Training Content:
Session 1
- Topic:  CBDCs are not Cryptocurrencies
- Time: 14:30-16:00
- Language: English
- Speaker: Dr. Oriol Caudevilla, FinTech Advisor, Management & Strategy Consultant and Researcher (Digital Banking and Finance, Central Bank Digital Currencies, Blockchain, Crypto and M&A)
- What to learn: The popularity of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) has recently increased. With the rise of cryptocurrencies, any new central bank digital currency is inevitably compared to its norms. However, many of the suggested central bank digital currency implementations are incompatible with cryptocurrency principles in numerous ways. CBDCs increase financial inclusion while also facilitating the implementation of monetary and fiscal policies. Many countries are investigating the impact of CBDCs on their economies, financial networks, and economic stability. The expert will be able to clarify simply what CBDCs are (a new form of Central Bank Money) and what they are not (cryptocurrencies) through the most relevant ongoing projects worldwide and its opportunities in Digital Yuan, Project Aber, or Digital Euro.

Session 2
- Topic: Cryptocurrencies Applications
- Time: 16:00-17:30

Cryptocurrencies have grown in popularity to the point where their entire value has surpassed one of the world's most valuable firms, Apple. The applications of cryptocurrencies have expanded beyond the original usage as payment method, it is now extending to financial services like capital markets, corporate finance, private banking, as well as robo-advisory. Sadie will touch upon the different part of banking that is being redefined by cryptocurrencies and the unique advantages that cryptocurrencies have to offer.
