What to learn in this workshop?
Learning Objective:
• Understand AI’s current state (types, capabilities, limits)
• Master AI tools for daily work.
• Match AI functions to industry tasks.
Learning Outcome:
• Use AI tools independently, for example to design drafts, short reports and etc.
• Distinguish AI tools strengths (e.g. Doubao: text; Cofmy: visuals) to boost efficiency.
• Explain core AI concepts simply.
Executive Summary:
What is AI?
1.1 1-Minute AI History: Key milestones—Turing Test (1950), 1960s expert systems, 2012 deep learning (ImageNet), 2020s large models (GPT, MidJourney)—distilling AI’s shift from concept to mainstream tool.
1.2 Differences and Types of Large Models: Foundational (general usage: GPT-4, Llama 3) vs. domain-specific usage (design: DALL-E 3, coding: CodeLlama); generative (create: Doubao) vs. discriminative (analyze: image checks). The training will explain the core differences among them, e.g. training data, customization and use cases.
What Can Today’s AI Do?
2.1 Text-Based AI: Streamlines text tasks—content creation (blogs, reports), editing (tone/grammar), summarization (papers/minutes), PPT outline drafting.
2.2 Visual AI: Meets visual needs—generation (fashion sketches, marketing posters), editing (retouching, style conversion), analysis (trend extraction for design).
2.3 What Can AI Agents Do? Executes multi-step tasks: trend research→report→PPT; cross-tool collaboration (text→visual mockups); personalized outputs (fashion tweaks).
